About Aman Vijay Dutta
Aman is an alumnus of ILS Law College, Pune, India (Batch of 2011) and was called to the Bar in 2016. Before establishing the Chambers in 2019, he practiced law as a litigation associate with M/s Hariani & Co. (Advocates & Solicitors), and M/s AZB & Partners (Advocates & Solicitors).
Eminent names in the legal profession have described Aman as a "clear thinking" and "tenacious" lawyer, with an "honesty to the subject of arbitration", and "a rare passion for trial and arbitral work."
His ability to appreciate and navigate, both, the commercial and analytical aspects of matters stems from his upbringing which has its roots in both, business and academia, in equal measure.
His practice encompasses a diverse array of matters, from arbitration and civil/ commercial litigation to constitutional law. He appears on behalf of clients before various courts and tribunals -arbitral and others- nationwide, right from the Trial courts at Pune upto the Supreme Court of India. In the 6 years that the Chambers have been in existence, Aman has handled -either as lead counsel or as briefing counsel- arbitrations involving claims exceeding INR 200 Million. He has also had the opportunity to conduct matters involving intricate questions of constitutional law. This is in addition to trial work and appeals, in civil and quasi criminal matters.

He also sits as an Arbitrator, in both, ad hoc & institutional arbitrations.
Aman's interest in arbitration -paticularly, domestic Indian arbitration- transcends professional pursuits. This led him to author The Handbook on Domestic Arbitration in India (Hind Law House, 2024). This book is the first to break down the domestic arbitral process, in a step by step manner, mirroring the life cycle of a Domestic Arbitration from commencement to conclusion in a chapter-wise format. The Handbook has been lauded by some of the most eminent names in the legal profession. These include: Hon'ble Mr. Justice P.S. Narasimha (Judge, Supreme Court of India), Hon'ble Dr. Justice Shalini Phansalkar Joshi (Former Judge, Bombay High Court), Mr. Ameet P. Hariani (Arbitrator, Senior Solicitor, Founding Partner of M/s Hariani & Co., and Chairman of Mahindra Lifespaces), Mr. Nikhil Sakhardande (Senior Advocate, Bombay High Court), Mr. Ganesh Chandru (Partner, M/s Dua Associates & Former Counsel and Asst. Registrar, Singapore International Arbitration Centre), and Mr. Tariq A. Khan (Advocate, Arbitrator, Mediator & Registrar of the International Arbitration and Mediation Centre, Hyderabad).
Aman also visits his alma mater and other top law colleges in Pune in various capacities, including as a visiting professor. And regularly speaks at executive courses on arbitration and dispute management organized by the NICMAR University, for business administration students, and working professionals from various organisations. These include AFCONS, Tata Power, Samsung, Reliance Mobility, Schneider Electric, Shapoorji Pallonji Construction, Lodha Group, AG Infra Projects, Godrej & Boyce, Livspace, and the Military Engineering Services. He is also regularly invited by chambers' of commerce, trade associations, and arbitral institutions to contribute as a policy maker and panelist/ speaker at events concerning arbitration, commercial law, and dispute management.
Aman has also recently established the School of Arbitration and Trial Law, which imparts practical tranining to young lawyers and students through courses, lectures, seminars, reading material, and interviews / interactions with seasoned litigators and arbitrators, with a vision to elevate the standards of Trial Practice, and resultantly, of the justice delivery system of India as a whole.
